[2.1] -=*HISTORY AND PLOT*=-
After being driven from Khaz Modan by the humans, the orcs strike
up an alliance with Sire Uther Lightbringer. Lightbringer and Gul'Dan
team up with Cho'Gall and Zuljin in a massive attempt to turn the
tides on a loosing war.

Lightbringer and Gul'Dan move undetected to a river fork right outside
of Alterac. There they establish a small human town, in which they wind
their sinister plot to capture Alterac... right across the river.

Lightbringer, using his superior influence of knighthood, is welcomed
through the defenses into the unsuspecting stronghold. As soon as the
gates are lowered, a flood of hidden Orcs beseige the stronghold and
its defenses. After many hours of intense combat, the stronghold fell
to Lightbringer and the Horde.

Under Lightbringer's orders, all the remaining warriors were
mercissly slaughtered. All the corpses were then collected and
ressurected by the Orcish death knights. The Orcs now has several hundred
to do their bidding, and were doomed to roam the countryside of Alterac
for all eternity.

The remainder of the living peasants were then rounded up, and enclosed
as the Orcs walled in the castle. Cannon and guard towers were then
constructed around the thick walls to ensure that no one got in, and no
one got out.

As Lightbringer returned to the town on the river fork to claim the
masses of gold promised to him by Gul'Dan, he was attacked by an army
sent to destroy him. Orcish intellegence reports that he managed to decimate
Gul'Dan's army, and that he rode off deep into the woods of Alterac.

Lightbringer, fearing for his life, wandered through the woods seeking
shelter and food. He eventually came onto a large rock formation which
looked like it had one time been made by human hands. What he found inside
the rocks is unknown, but for some reason, he decided to stay there, in
the heart of the Orcish Horde, deep in the forsts of Alterac.

With both the Orcs and the Humans searcing for him, he remained in the
forests, and lived to watch all the Orcish towns grow around him. All of
the peasants who had been fortunate enough to escape the origional battle
over Alterac, were collected and held captive in the nearest village.

Now you have been sent with Lord Lothar to reclaim the stronghold of
Alterac and destroy all of the Orcish villages still in the area,
including the human village on the river fork. Then you must hunt down,
and kill Sire Lightbringer before the Orcs do.

                -=*MYTHS AND LEGEND*=-
There are not many legends about Alterac, for most of them have been
dispelled... but there is one that remains to be proven.

It has been said, that deep in the forests in the area of Alterac,
whether really in Alterac or not, that the gods constructed a dark
portal, through which the native could communicate with their gods.
Whether there is such a thing or not is not known, but it makes for
some interesting tall tales.

                          -=*HINTS*=-

-Atack the nearest village as soon as possible. Some villages may still
contain captured peasents. Force them to do YOUR biddings! They will be
invaluable in the completion of this scenario.

-When ransacking vilages, pillage AND loot... make sure to use the walls
that have already been constructed for your benefit. You may need them
to keep the masses of undead out of your village.

-Only guard towers can hit flying creatures (keep this in mind).

-Make sure to scout out the terrain with your flying machine FIRST before
you decide to go exploring with your troops.

-Its probably not a good idea to attack Lightbringer's village on the river
fork first.

-Don't leave forces unguarded... especially peasants... the walking dead
know no sleep.

-Finally, use Lothar to your full advantage. He is an invaluable killing
machine.

And don't forget, have a great time!
